A Letter to Those Ready for What’s Next
To everyone working toward their next step,
Looking for work can be more complicated than simply finding an opening and submitting an application. Sometimes you know exactly where you want to go. Other times, you know something needs to change but are still figuring out what comes next.
Wherever you are in that process, Access Ann Arbor was created to help make the path easier to navigate.
We believe your experience is bigger than what can fit on a résumé. Your strengths, responsibilities, goals, setbacks, and the things you have learned along the way are all part of your story. A career path does not have to be perfect or traditional for there to be something valuable to build from.
Our role is to meet you where you are, understand where you want to go, and help you become more prepared for the steps ahead. That may mean strengthening the way you present yourself, building confidence, improving everyday habits, exploring employment possibilities, or having someone in your corner as you adjust to something new.
We cannot promise you the job, and we cannot make hiring decisions for an employer. What we can do is help you approach the process with greater preparation, clarity, and support while helping open doors to employers and resources within the community.
And when you do begin something new, you do not suddenly stop mattering to us. Starting a job can bring its own set of questions and challenges. We want Access Ann Arbor to remain a resource as you settle in, grow, and continue building toward what comes next.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you reach out. You just need to be willing to take the next step.
